This v
intage Sterling Silver dish was created by S. Kirk & Sons Company. It has three very detailed legs, a repousse rim, geometric designs inside the dish and the initials "LBG" in the center. The repousse rim represent 6 different flowers. It could have been used as a 'calling card' dish, for candy, nuts or jewelry at a bedside. It is a fine representation of exquisite silver workmanship.
The hallmark here was used between 1896 and 1907.
Samuel Kirk (1793-1872) was an American Silversmith from Balt
imore, Maryland. He is best known for his introduction of repousse to the USA. In 1979 his company was purchased by Stieff Company and was renamed Kirk Stieff
