Description
This auction is for an Offset BBQ pitand
the ramped utility trailer on which it rests. To confirm, this auction is for both the trailer - with a clear and clean title - and pit. Both the pit and trailer were purchased around 2017. I had grand plans to mount the pit to the trailer and to build out a portable kitchen, but the best-laid plans fell astray. Alas, daddy wants a new BBQ pit, that's ready to go, but momma says this one has to go first.
My loss is your gain. The highest bidder gets the spoils as this auction will start at .00 and will have
no reserve
. It’s not being offered anywhere else, so the final bid will take it home. I won't be accepting any offline offers, so don't ask: I want this to go fair and square to whoever wants it the most at whatever price closes out the auction. Since this might go to a new home as low as .00, I will expect online payment. Ergo, payment will be managed by Ebay, and the buyer will be responsible for completing the payment process at the end of the auction.
Just a note - this will be a local pickup in San Antonio, Texas. The buyer will be responsible for making any necessary arrangements to take possession. As you can see the pit is just sitting on top of the trailer,
it is not mounted
or connected to the trailer in any way. You can see the results of a failed tie-down in the bent nature of one of the smokestacks. While cosmetically dinged, this thing still cooks like a champ. Of course, it will have some heavy duty straps to hold it down nice and snug for you when you take it home. Lesson learned.
The pit has been good to me, it has been a real trooper, and I enjoy cooking on it. It’s been the backbone of many successful racks of ribs and briskets. Sure, it’s seen some use, but a bit of elbow grease and paint will get this thing looking spic and span. I purchased this new from
http://mattsbbqpits.com/backyard-smokers.html
and have enjoyed every single cook. I plan on replacing this one with one of Matt’s trailer-mounted rigs.
What’s included in this auction:

4 Racks each 19.5in x 18.5in
Cylinder Box
Top Rack: 36.5in x 6.75in
Bottom Rack 1 - 37in x 19in

1 - Outdoor cover for the bbq pit
1 - Tractor Supply 6x8 Carry-On Utility trailer with a ramp and a clear Texas Title
1 - Spare Tire
1 - Trailer hitch lock
1 - Magnetic trailer light kit
In the interest of full transparency, here are a couple of known issues:
The trailer has been cooked on for a few years. The boards have grease stains and a hole from some wayward coals.
The paint on the trailer has seen better days. It’s faded and chipped from years of loving use.
There are some dings and slight dents on the trailer rails.
One of the smokestacks is bent in, without any impact on functionality, from when it fell off my trailer. Never will I say, I don't need to tie it back down just to move it over a few feet.
The top of the firebox does not fit flush. Despite this, maintaining a constant temp and holding it in the sweet spot is a breeze. A small log every half hour is all it takes and you get a beautiful thin blue smoke indicating excellent combustion.
I think there is a wiring issue with the trailer lights. I am going to include a set of temporary magnetic trailer lights for you to keep and use when you take the pit home.
It certainly needs a good cleaning, but that's part of the fun for the new owner.
You're not going to want to miss bidding on this one. It will find a new home.
Cheers.
