what bags do you recommend using that would fit around the bucket and still leave enough space to snap this on?
Answer: Any bag shod be fine. I just used a standard garbage bag but I put some paper towels in there to help absorb any moisture.

This just makes so much sense when camping! We used it last weekend while camping Friday through Sunday. It was so nice not having to walk 1/2 a mile every time we needed to relieve ourselves or walk into the scary dark armadillo infested woods to dig a hole.
To use it...We lined our standard bucket with plastic bags (x 3) and put a scoop of cheap kitty litter ( bag from wally world) every time we went to soak it up. It was a little weird to see inside the lid condensate.... and when it was time to go it wasn't exactly fun to be the person who had to clean this up, but whatever. We washed it down, stuck it in a trash bag, and took care of the rest when we got home. That's life and it is sooooo worth having. We plan to use this in future for more camping trips and a music festival.
Should you buy this? Yes!!!
Also consider getting: One of those single person pop-up privacy shelters. A bungee cord that fits thru a roll of toilet paper to hang your TP. Some of the special toilet bags they sell on here. Hand sanitizer to leave in the toilet tent. Cheap kitty litter.

My husband rolled his eyes when I made this purchase in preparation for our trip to the Outer Banks in NC. He thought it wasn't necessary at all, but I felt like it was well spent for the piece of mind of knowing I could use the loo if necessary. We were going to Corolla, which is a drive on 4x4 beach in NC, we'd be spending all day there, and there are NO BATHROOMS on the beach. What if I or the kids had to go #2? The thought just gave me shivers. So I bought this sucker, put in a heavy duty garbage bag, scooped in a bit of cat litter and snapped it onto a Lowe's bucket. Voila! Portable potty! We did, in fact, use it on the beach and it was plenty comfortable (better than squatting over a hole in the sand!) and after anyone used it, they just threw in a handful of sand to cover it up. I used binder clips to hold a sheet between the front and back doors of our SUV to create a little enclosure so there was some privacy (also used it to change clothes behind). The lid doesn't lock, and it's not airtight, so if it's got stuff in it, you'll have to seal the bag if you're not sure it's going to stay upright. Unhook the handle on your bucket of choice and slide on a roll of toilet paper and you're good to go. We have a ton of buckets in the shed, so we just needed the seat. Performed exactly as I had hoped!
Luggable Loo Pros:
Simple, yet effective. It's a toilet seat, let's face it I don't want to try to find a rock that is shaped right for me to sit on and do my duty. I want something comfortable and stable enough to sit and relax, maybe even read a little while I'm there. This thing does it. I purchased the Loo lid ONLY, as I had a 5 gallon paint bucket already.
Luggable Loo Cons:
Not much really, the only thing is the 5 gallon bucket takes up a bit of room in the back of the truck to transport, but that's about it.

The lid is so tight on it that it does not stay open and lays on the back when you use the camp toilet. It does not stay on the bucket either. It's very hard to find the right sized bucket in this country. (Not the UK) I would give it 5 stars but the cold plastic lid on the back is a deal breaker and the plastic has a crack in it where the hinge part is. For the price it's a great deal but be careful of the lid.

The idea of this toilet seat is fabulous but there's a problem in that it won't fit just any standard 5 gallon pail. No amount of pressing, pushing, hammering will get this thing to snap into place--it's too small for my Home Depot orange 5 gallon pail.
I wrote to the company and here is their reply:"LL S/C was designed to fit a standard industrial pail. Unfortunately we cannot ensure all pails conform to a standard pail. Right now I know Princess Auto pails and McMunn & Yates work. Unfortunately we can't tell without testing whose other pails work or don't as each manufacturer can set their pails dimensions as they want."

First time wrote the review cause I want to share my experience to everyone who wanna to buy this toilet seat , Few days ago I was very excited to waiting this toilet seat coming over then I can right away go for camping , I saw all the reviews some customers say it fit with Lowe’s and RONA 5 gallon pails perfectly so I already bought they the pails in hand but unfortunately When it arrived I found those pails doesn’t fit at all then I bring the toilet seat run to the Canadian tires and Home Depot to try and they are same doesn’t fit also.
And this toilet seat looking wasn’t same as the picture and it selling point is for 5 gallon bucket , I got this is a Luggable Loo toilet seat cover and I wondering it only fit with they the company the pail and I saw Luggable Loo kit of the pail bottom it is a 20 litre not a Canadian tires , Home Depot , Lowe’s, RONA the US made 5 gallon/19 litre pails, so I been very disappointed couldn’t found any pails fit with it for go for camping, during the camping I have no choice use it with Rona pail for pee , they cannot snap together and the ground not very even so every each time when I use I need very very be-careful.

In Princess Auto I saw the pail the bottom it is sign 20 litre not a 5 gallon and so funny it is made from the same company Reliance so I pretty sure I found the right one when I got home to try finally they can snap together but seems a bit tight , if you want take off the toilet cover from the pail to remove filled with the pee bag so need to be carefully it’s may be cause the big messy , otherwise I found the solution I feel very happy now.
