    Description

    R Wallace & Sons Sterling Drunken Monk Friar Matched Pair Brushes Fine Art ca. 1880. These beautiful brushes measure 4.5” x 3” x 1.5” thick w 1” original natural brush fibers.
    From a prominent local estate with many lovely art pieces.
    These gorgeous near mint brushes are number 75 and 85. They are a matched set showing the friar both in the act of drinking and the aftermath.
    The same pattern was made in the form of whiskey flasks and there are some auction records available on these.
    Extremely nice condition for their age. Only very minor dings and scratches. Please see photos.
    Superb workmanship, wonderful design — fantastic grooming accessory for those that have only the finest. Extra fine condition for the discerning collector.
