    Description

POOLE POTTERY RED BODIED TRADITIONAL PC PATTERN SHAPE 656 MUFFIN OR CRUMPET DISH
This product data sheet is originally written in English.
This wonderful Poole shape 656 muffin dish dates from the Carter Stabler & Adams period, it was made in about 1930 and is decorated in the pretty PC pattern
The red clay body indicates it was made no later than 1934, the factory backstamp on the base was the one in use from 1924 to 1950 and the paintress mark is that of Marjorie Cryer (Evans) who was with the pottery from 1927 to 1940
It is 4.25" (10.5cm) tall, the base is 8" (20cm) diameter and the lid is 5.75" (14.5cm) diameter
There is a Y shaped hairline crack across the top which does not extend to the sides and is virtually invisible on the inside - the glaze on the very tip of the lid has flaked off and there is also the usual light crazing that is very common with pieces of this age - otherwise it is in good condition with no chips or restoration
A very nice piece worth a lot more without the crack, it will make a fine addition to your collection or a lovely gift
