These primitive crinoids have been referred to as Eocrinoids.
The Eocrinoidea are an extinct class of echinoderms that lived between the Early Cambrian and Late Silurian periods. They are the earliest known group of stalked, arm-bearing echinoderms, and were the most common echinoderms during the Cambrian
.
These Eocrinoid specimens started coming out of Morocco about 2 years ago.
This fossil is sufficiently durable to safely hold and examine. It would make a great study specimen.
Specimen weighs approximately 223 grams.
The plate is solid seeming and measures approximately 4-1/4"x 3-1/4" x 3/8" thick.
