Stoneware clay is very strong. It is fully vitrified (all surfaces are made glossy and non-porous) which gives it strength and durability.
Denby glazes are extremely hard and you may notice grey lines from cutlery on your dinnerware over time. This is metal left behind from your cutlery which has been abraded. We suggest using a lightly abrasive cleaning solution (e.g. Barkeeper's Friend) as soon as marking appears. Matte glazes will tend to show marking more.
It can be safely used in:
•Dishwasher - Use liquid detergents, low temperature cycles and rinse aid to remove surface residue. Ensure you do not exceed the recommended detergent dose level. Ensure dinnerware is not touching other pieces when in the dishwasher. Avoid powder, tablet and gel detergents. Avoid high temperature dishwasher cycles. If you live in a hard water area, ensure water is sufficiently softened.
•Oven & Microwave - for cooking and reheating food
•Freezer - for storing food
All pottery and china can crack if exposed to sudden changes in temperature, no matter how strong it is, so please don't take items from the freezer and put them straight into the oven or microwave. Please do not expose to direct heat sources such as the hob or grill.
