Antique Sterling Silver Baby Comb - around 1930 - and Adult Comb Edge
Item Description
I am going to start by saying these are not stamped.  I am not an expert.  I can give you history on this but I can't swear to them being sterling silver- I do believe they are.  I know what sterling feels like and maybe under all the tarnish there is a symbol somewhere.
The baby comb should be from 1930 based on the original owner.  I suppose it could have been given the following year or handed down to him and even older.  There is a lot of tarnish on the comb and sleeve that it fits into.  It is approx 4.5 inches long and about a half inch of the comb is broken off.  It has a lovely scroll pattern.
The longer piece is what a comb used to be held with.  The comb is no longer here.  It was owned by my grandmother who passed away in the late 60's.  I believe it was from her mother's household.  But again, there is no comb.  It measures approx 8.75" wide.
I have no idea what value to place on these.  I do know that collectors often do not want antiques cleaned so this will come to you as is.
