Around 1/10/04 noticed MDX#287777 not sputtering random parts sometimes several in a row.
Showing no output on display.
Replaced MDX#287777 with #167760 all parts seem to sputter fine. Contacted Advanced Energy sent unit in for repair rma #400708419. After testing they claimed there was no problem and unit was sent back to us. We reinstalled  MDX#287777 around 2/20/04 to test the unit. It sputtered fine for about a month then the problem was seen around 3/20/2004 intermittently. It would have no output maybe 1 out of 75 attempts. It slowly got worse until 5 out of 8 sputter attempts would have no power output. Replaced MDX with #167760 - again there were no more sputtering errors from 6/01/04 to 9/13/04.
Contacted Advanced Energy to send MDX#287777 in again for no output on 7/15/04 rma #400803575. On 8/26/04 MDX was again sent back after replacing K2 on power board. It was installed on 9/13/04 To find after a few good sputter attempts there was again no power output several parts in a row. If the power button on the face of the MDX is pushed while it is attempting to sputter, the unit will come on and have a power output, but the unit had to be shut off then back on. This problem is never seen on MDX #167760. MDX#287777 is being sent in again for repair rma #400809528.
We would like MDX#287777 to be fixed properly in a timely manner. The unit is still under warranty.
