Description

80% APPROVE "CAVALIER CIGARETTES" MATCHBOOK. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS First Class. Pre-Owned  In 1949, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company announced that they had begun manufacturing a "King Size" cigarette, Named "CAVALIER." The regular size of a cigarette was 70 mm long, while the new king size was 84 mm long. They were advertised to be extra mild and that you could inhale and hold it in briefly so you could feel the extra mildness in the smoke. And after a company survey was done, at least 80% of those interviewed believed that Cavalier was a better cigarette (See Inside Cover). You wonder if the survey was ever really done, but just made up because Cavaliers never really took off and they appear to have been replaced by Winstons in the mid 1950s?! Nice looking cigarette package though as you can see on this FULL ADVERTISING MATCHBOOK. White has become shaded with age.
